The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

JOB INFORMATION

Positions in this series provide care, training, and treatment to children and adolescents with behavioral and emotional disturbances in a 24-hour/7-day a week treatment home setting.
Incumbents supervise and evaluate the performance of lower level professionals and support staff, schedule and assign work, and provide training and coaching.
The Division of Child and Family Services is seeking applicants with a passion to make a difference in the lives of Nevada's Children as a Treatment Home Supervisor (THS) in Sparks, NV.
This position provides care, training and treatment to adolescents with behavioral and emotional disturbances in a 24 hour/7 day a week residential setting at a Psychiatric Treatment Facility North (PRTF North). Youth served by PRTF North are designated as Severely Emotionally Disturbed and exhibit significant behavioral challenges including physical and verbal aggression, non-compliance, challenges to authority figures, school problems, peer and social difficulties, and family issues. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work directly with youth and adolescents teaching basic living and social skills; will supervise the daily operations of a residential treatment program, create a schedule and ensure adequate staff to client coverage; train and supervise staff members to ensure compliance with treatment model implementation as well as help to develop program protocols and policies; work as a team with other professionals and parents to help develop youth goals and programs.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education, child development, psychology, counseling, social work, or closely related field and two years of experience in the care, training, and/or treatment of children or adolescents with behavioral and emotional disturbances; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience above the bachelor's degree level.
Special Requirements
A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
Working on evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
As a condition of employment, pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must first submit to a pre-employment screening test for controlled substances.
