Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Compliance/Enforcement Investigators perform investigative and enforcement functions to monitor compliance and enforce State and/or federal laws or regulations pertaining to a specific program or regulatory area.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.

This recruitment is for one Supervisory Compliance/Enforcement Investigator position and will be located within the Department of Business & Industry's, Nevada Transportation Authority (NTA), Enforcement Unit. The work location is based in Las Vegas with travel to the surrounding areas. Under limited supervision of a Chief Investigator or program administrator, the incumbent will serve as a first-line supervisor and independently conduct or monitor investigative and enforcement functions, represent the NTA at meetings and hearings, as well as conduct and monitor investigations and enforcement actions related to state and/or federal laws and regulations under the NTA's authority regarding transportation network companies, other passenger transportation, the moving and storage of household goods, and towing. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, police science, psychology, business administration or closely related field and three years of professional investigative, law enforcement, or program related experience where standard investigative and enforcement techniques were utilized to make program compliance determinations, enforcement of state and federal laws, preparation of detailed reports for the purpose of justifying administrative sanctions, penalties or criminal prosecution. Work experience may be obtained in law enforcement, investigative, regulatory, or comparable setting; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and five years of professional experience as outlined above; OR one year of experience as a Compliance/Enforcement Investigator III in Nevada State service.
Special Notes
    Incumbents carry firearms in the performance of their duties and must maintain a quarterly qualifying score of 70 or better with a firearm.
    Incumbents in the Compliance/Enforcement Investigator II, III, Supervisory Compliance/ Enforcement Investigator and Chief Investigator, Compliance/Enforcement classes must maintain Nevada POST Category II certification as a condition of continuing employment.
    Position may be required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and on standby or call back status.
Special Requirements
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    Pursuant to NAC 289.110 applicants must meet minimum standards for appointment prior to employment.
    Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, positions in this series have been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in these positions must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
    Applicants must meet current Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) requirements as established in the Nevada Revised Statutes and Nevada Administrative Code, in order to attend a law enforcement academy and become P.O.S.T. certified.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
The following additional questions are part of this Recruitment
1) Describe your supervisory experience.
2) Describe in detail your program management experience in performing or supervising the performance of investigative and enforcement functions.
3) Identify your experience in training related to developing, implementing, reviewing and/or approving training initiatives to ensure compliance with program goals.
4) Describe your experience directing specialized investigations and actions and experience dealing with sensitive, high profile or difficult cases. Include any surveillance and/or covert activities and any experience testifying in court proceedings.
