Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
The Nevada Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) is recruiting for a Child Care Worker 1 position located in Las Vegas. This is a full-time position working within the Early Childhood Mental Health Services Day Treatment Program. This program serves children ages 3-6 with severe emotional disturbances in a therapeutic preschool setting.
The Division of Child and Family Services is recruiting for a Child Care Worker 1 (CCW) in Las Vegas.
CCW's are responsible for traveling in vehicle with transportation service driver, children and adults; will safely escort children individually and in groups, both indoors and outdoors; will provide acceptable alternatives to unacceptable behaviors; will demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with children both verbally and non-verbally; will observe physical and emotional behaviors of children and adults; and will support the children's emotional well-being by providing a climate of concern and care for each individual child.
The Child Care Worker will support day treatment classroom activities; interacting with staff and children to promote a peaceable classroom community; build appropriate relationships with children and adults; learn appropriate ways to support and attend to the children's social/emotional and developmental needs; learn techniques to utilize with the children in the classroom and on the transportation route; and support Day Treatment Staff in classroom activities by preparing previously approved curriculum materials. The Child Care Worker will complete required paperwork within established guidelines.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent and one year of experience working with small children in a preschool setting; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
A valid drivers license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
