APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY -  $80,053.92 to  $120,122.64  PAY GRADE: 40
The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Licensed Professional Engineers provide professional services involving the application of engineering principles and data, or activities in connection with public or private utilities, structures, buildings, machines, equipment or projects impacting the public welfare or the safeguarding of life, health or property.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
Licensed Professional Engineers provide professional services involving the application of engineering principles and data, or activities in connection with public or private utilities, structures, buildings, machines, equipment or projects impacting the public welfare or the safeguarding of life, health or property. This position is located within the Structures Division in Carson City. Incumbents will perform bridge load ratings and provide technical and administrative support for the Consultant Load Rating Program; assist the Nevada Department of Transportation's (NDOT's) Over Dimensional Permit Section; and perform special bridge inspections to determine load rating impacts of damage or deterioration. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Current Licensure as a Professional Engineer (P.E.)
Special Notes
    A person that is a licensed Professional Engineer in another state must become licensed as a Professional Engineer in Nevada within six months of appointment as a condition of employment.
    The practice of engineering does not include land surveying or the work ordinarily performed by persons who operate or maintain machinery or equipment.
Special Requirements
    A valid drivers license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    As a condition of employment, pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety.  Persons offered employment in this position must first submit to a pre-employment screening test for controlled substances.
    Registration as a Professional Engineer is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
The Examination

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.

2) Describe your experience with project management. Absence of this experience is not disqualifying.
3) Describe your experience with bridge inspection, include any bridge inspection courses taken. Absence of this experience is not disqualifying.
