The Position
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
Position is responsible to research and write Division policy for the Chief Game Warden, research and write regulations for the Nevada Board of Wildlife Commission, research and write Bill Drafts for presentation to the Nevada Legislature, establish and write training standards for the Division. Position will investigate administrative investigations as assigned, oversee the Division Training Program, act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) with Nevada POST. Position will provide direct support to the Chief Game Warden for critical daily operational needs. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in wildlife management, biology or closely related field and four years of professional experience in the enforcement of wildlife and boating safety laws and regulations; OR one year of experience as a Game Warden III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
    Applicants must meet Peace Officers' Standards and Training (POST) requirements as established in the Nevada Revised Statutes and Nevada Administrative Code.
Special Requirements
    A background investigation is required prior to being considered for appointment.
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
