The Position
Casework Management Specialists within the Department of Health & Human Services, Division of Child & Family Services, provide case management services for children and their families and may be assigned to one of many specialized programs and/or facilities where duties may be performed in the home and/or any similar setting.
The Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) is recruiting for a Casework Management Specialist 4 for the Quality Assurance and Training Unit, located in one of our Rural Child Welfare offices in Carson City, Elko, Ely, Fallon, Fernley, Pahrump, Winnemucca or Yerington. Incumbents act as a lead-worker on a regular and reoccurring basis over a staff of lower-level Casework Management Specialist 3, 2, and 1 positions.
This position is responsible for the quality assurance, quality improvement and training of Child Welfare staff region-wide, including, but not limited to monitor the different program areas throughout the Rural Region for quality and compliance to ensure programs are operating effectively, efficiently, and in compliance with federal/state laws and agency policies and procedures. Demonstrate an advanced understanding of service coordination, and best practices related to safety, permanency and wellbeing of children as defined by state and federal mandates. Develop and implement training programs; develop appropriate training curricula, materials, and methods; establish training schedules, conduct training, and update curricula on an ongoing basis; provide on-site technical assistance, coaching, mentoring, consultation, and training to staff, supervisors, managers, and community Stakeholders. Perform field casework alone or in a training capacity as lead worker. Provide comprehensive reports from specific management requests concerning substantive changes in practice and procedures. Participate in the development and implementation of new procedures and processes in child welfare. Travel is expected as a part of this position and ranges from 25% - 50% of the time, dependent on agency needs. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, special education, human growth and development, criminal justice, psychology, counseling, social work, sociology or closely related social/human services related field and three years of professional experience providing case management services specific to children in a health and/or human services setting; OR one year of experience as a Casework Management Specialist 3 in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience above the Bachelor's degree level as described above.
Special Notes
    Licensure by the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers as a Social Worker or Clinical Social Worker may be substituted for one year of required work experience. Individuals who have current licensure may be required to maintain licensure as a condition of continuing employment.

    Positions may be required to work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
    Positions are subject to call-out or call-back.
    Positions require a valid driver's license, or equivalent mobility, at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
