The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

Retail Storekeepers perform merchandising and inventory control duties to maximize profits in a retail store or e-Commerce environment which includes canteen stores and coffee shops in correctional facilities and other State retail operations.

Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. OR Incumbents perform basic tasks or elements of the job not requiring the additional knowledge, skills and abilities to perform at the next level in the series.
This position will be the on-site manager of Cathedral Gorge State Park's gift shop. Primary job duties include operating and utilizing the Point of Sale system to process sales, manage physical inventory, analyze sales data, receive merchandise, and balance received orders to packing slips. The incumbent will also be responsible for working directly with existing and new vendors to place orders of products and to create new site-specific products. The incumbent will also be responsible for ensuring deposits are completed in a timely and accurate manner. The incumbent will also be responsible for performing physical inventory, ensuring that it is completed accurately and in a timely manner. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for recruiting, training and supervising any part time employees or volunteers.
This position will ensure that the gift shop and the stockroom are kept clean and organized, with product displays being attractive and shopper friendly. The incumbent will be required to perform basic custodial duties. This position requires the use of general office equipment, and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel programs.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
One year of storekeeping or retail experience which included stocking, sales and/or customer service.
Special Requirements
Applicants may be required to work weekends, holidays and/or special events.
A valid drivers license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
