Education Programs Directors, Supervisors, and Professionals assist and foster the growth of early childhood, pre-K, K-12, postsecondary, adult, and related education programs throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance, training, and oversight.
This recruitment is for an Education Programs Professional position within the Nevada Department of Education, and may be located in either Carson City or Las Vegas, depending on the location of the selected applicant. This position will provide leadership, information, technical assistance, and consultative services to develop, execute, and report Nevada Department of Education (NDE) policies concerning K-5 English Language Arts (ELA) standards, curriculum supports, assessments, and professional learning. The incumbent will provide services as a member of the Office of Teaching and Learning (OTL) and as a NDE representative or liaison to national/state organizations, task forces, committees and/or panels dealing with ELA information, trends, data, and implementation. This position provides leadership and content expertise on the state's instructional materials adoption committee, grant reviews, and school improvement initiatives around ELA; provides time and commitment for personal professional and technical growth and skills enhancement; and maintains a professional and collaborative demeanor by adhering to NDE's Professional Standards and Workplace Expectations.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Doctorate degree from an accredited university in business, economics, education, English, math, psychology, science, sociology, or related field and one year of professional experience in an educational program area, which included experience in at least one of the following areas related to the current vacancy: leading and managing a team that supports organizational goals; evaluating a program and/or program participants for compliance purposes or outcomes; developing and implementing a vision for desired outcomes; and/or communicating with diverse stakeholders across various platforms; OR Master's degree from an accredited university in business, economics, education, English, math, psychology, science, sociology, or related field and two years of professional experience as described above. |
