The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Program Officers administer a program or major component of a program by planning, coordinating and managing services and activities in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements and established program performance standards and objectives.
Incumbents administer one or more programs or a major component of a large, complex program which affects a more targeted number of customers or clients; revise, recommend, and implement changes to work plans, program performance standards and objectives for providing services, and eligibility requirements.
This announcement will be used to fill a Program Officer 2 position with the Department of Motor Vehicles, within the Administrative Division in Carson City. This position is primarily responsible for managing centralized purchasing, warehouses, mailrooms, and inventory control for the Department both in Carson City and Las Vegas; and completing annual physical inventory of the Department's fixed assets. This position will also supervise six full time employees. Under the authority of NRS 239B.010.1(b), the DMV utilizes NRS 205.4605 - 205.810, NRS 293.504, NRS 293.5045, 6 CFR 37.45, 49 CFR 1572.103, and 49 CFR 384.228 as criteria to obtain a FBI fingerprint clearance check on current and prospective employees. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, or other discipline related to the program assignment and one year of professional experience in planning, coordinating and administering a program which included interpretation of laws and regulations; development of program policy and procedures; development and implementation of program performance standards and objectives for providing services; and development and implementation of eligibility requirements; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Program Officer I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
    This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
