Maintenance Repair Specialists perform a variety of skilled work in two or more of the mechanical and construction trades in order to repair, construct, and/or maintain buildings, grounds and equipment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position is with the Department of Administration, State Public Works Division, Buildings and Grounds Section. It is supervised by the Facility Supervisor II. It is located in Las Vegas. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday and the hours are 7 am to 4 pm. This position will be performing journey level, skilled work in the building and mechanical trades to repair, construct, alter and/or maintain buildings, facilities, equipment and grounds maintenance on an as needed basis for all State facilities under the jurisdiction of the Division in Southern Nevada, in accordance with established policies and procedures, and within the position's scope of responsibility.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Four years of progressively responsible experience under the supervision of journey level trades persons in two or more of the major building or mechanical trades which included responsibility for performing a variety of repair and maintenance activities, laying out jobs and ordering materials; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |

This position requires an applicant be at least 18 years of age upon application. If selected, proof of being at least 18 years of age will be required.

This position is subject to standby and call back status. |
|
Incumbents may be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays in addition to their normal work schedules. |
|
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |
|
A valid driver's license is required at time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |
|
This position may require flexible/rotating shifts. |
|
This position may require work on nights/weekends/holidays. |
|
