Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position is with the Secretary of State's Document Preparation Services located in Las Vegas. This position is Administrative Assistant II and will provide administrative support to the Administrative Assistant IV who administers the program. This position will be responsible for assisting with registrants renewals process and new applicant file creation, prepare certified mailing as well as regular mailings for monthly letters and notices for Document Preparation Services and provide customer service, such as assist with answering telephone calls, emails and other inquiries from the public.
The desired incumbent should be detail orientated, have experience with data entry, and customer service, the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, and be able to learn quickly and train others. Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |

A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |

Fluent in Spanish and English. |
