APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY -  $83,666.16 to  $125,760.24  PAY GRADE: 41
The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
This recruitment is for an Executive Branch Economist position, located in Carson City, Nevada within The Governor's Finance Office. The position conducts research and analysis of economic, social, industrial and employment factors in order to identify trends and implications on the State; forecasts and tracks diverse state tax revenues and researches how other changes might affect revenues; prepares in-depth reports of statistical and economic data; presents findings and recommendations to the Governor and his staff, the Finance Director and Deputies and presents and defends revenue forecasts to the state's Economic Forum; and assist the Director of the Governor's Finance Office with data collection for various meetings within the Executive Branch. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Master's degree from an accredited college or university in economics, labor economics, econometrics, statistics or related field and three years of professional experience which included economic research, model building, forecasting, fiscal and trend analysis and interpretation and the development of presentations, reports and recommendations. This experience must have involved the application of advanced statistical mathematical and economic principles and research modeling; OR two years of experience as an Economist III in Nevada State service performing duties as described above; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
Additional Position Criteria
    A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    This position is subject to flexible/rotating shifts.
    This position is subject to overtime.
