Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.

Incumbents perform journey level duties and may serve as a lead worker to lower level IT staff as assigned. This is a supervisory level for the Computer Operations function.

These positions are in the Traffic Operations Division as team members of the Technology Section. The positions will be field technicians in either Northern or Southern Nevada and will perform work as technical professionals maintaining the Nevada Shared Public Radio System and is responsible for assisting in the daily operations, maintenance, coordination, and sustainment of the system. In addition to these responsibilities, the technicians are required to possess a working knowledge of public radio principles, procedures, operations, and standards. Responsibilities of these positions also include being part of a team responsible for installation, construction, and maintenance of all radio communications sites across this area of the state. These positions are also Traffic Operations representatives and may be called upon to support the Division for various projects and tasks from time to time and will work closely with external partners at varying levels to ensure communications capabilities are maintained and support the division's efforts with the Transportation System Management & Operations program and initiatives. These responsibilities require training and experience in the areas of digitally trunked radio system with an ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain complicated technical systems at the field technician level.
