The Position
Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.
PER EXECUTIVE ORDER 2023-11, ALL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN WAIVED FOR THIS POSITION UNTIL JUNE 30TH, 2024. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is currently recruiting for an Administrative Assistant 1 in Fallon, Nevada. This recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur in the following program: Rural Regional Center (RRC).
Incumbents perform a range of office administrative tasks, including answering and sorting calls, setting up and keeping files, setting up conference rooms and state cars, typing and processing a variety of documents. Keep up your Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Enter information into reports, spreadsheets, and agency databases. Support and backup the front desk during lunch, breaks, and staff absences. Fulfill duties that fall outside of the regular everyday tasks, such as special projects. Recognizes the effects of both internal and external policies on the division. Encourage a safe workplace by performing safety procedures, adhering to all safety rules and guidelines, and reporting any unsafe practices or conditions. Bilingual skills may be required. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of clerical experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records, answering telephones, and reviewing forms, documents and other written materials; OR six months of experience as an Administrative Aid in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required.
    This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
