The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

Under general supervision, Education and Information Officers research issues of concern to the agency and the
relevant target population; develop, coordinate and/or present educational programs; review, revise and monitor
courses of instruction to reflect current marketplace and applicable law; audit instructor presentations to ensure
quality instruction is provided in accordance with program requirements; facilitate communication among the
target population and State and federal agencies; develop media releases, newsletters and informational
brochures. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This role is situated within the Office of Early Learning and Development at the Nevada Department of Education in Carson City. The individual in this position will provide technical assistance to licensed childcare facilities to help them engage with the Silver State Stars Quality Rating & Improvement System (QRIS). Responsibilities include designing and delivering trainings approved by the Nevada Registry, participating in local committees and boards that advocate for the early childhood sector, and collaborating with QRIS coaches and assessors to offer assistance to childcare providers in northern Nevada and rural areas. Additionally, the role involves organizing events led by the Office of Early Learning and Development for partners and providers, as well as supporting the QRIS team in reviewing documentation and finalizing start ratings for QRIS programs.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an area of specialization relevant to the agency to which assigned and two years of professional experience which included responsibilities for researching, writing, instructing, and presenting informational and educational material; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Notes
The ability to travel at least 25% of the time is required.
Special Requirements
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
