JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Staff Associate Engineers perform professional engineering assignments not requiring licensure by the State Board of Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position is located in Carson City. The Staff 1 Associate Engineer in Lab Services is responsible for the calibration of all Materials Division, Construction and Progress Lab equipment. Other responsibilities include the management of all hazardous waste generated in the lab. Overseeing the safety and chemical hygiene program at Carson City Materials Division. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Certification by the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors as an Engineer Intern; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or a closely related engineering field; OR two years of journey level technical experience equivalent to an Engineering Technician III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
Additional Position Criteria
Must be able to travel for work duties with minimal supervision.
