Quality Control Specialists review sample casework of public assistance, child support enforcement, disability adjudication/fraud, or vocational rehabilitation programs to determine compliance with State and federal laws, regulations, policies and procedures; identify errors and causal factors; investigate and verify case facts and information; and recommend corrective action or compile data for required reports.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
Quality Control Specialists review sampled casework of public assistance programs for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Medicaid, Child Care, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and New Employees of Nevada (NEON) to determine compliance with State and Federal laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; identify errors and causal factors; investigate and verify case facts and render decisions of their findings.
This position will be located in Reno/Sparks or Carson City. Incumbents in this position function under general supervision of a Quality Control Supervisor as a program policy expert who audits the work completed by the District Offices through case sampling. This position is responsible for examining and evaluating cases, independently verifying case circumstances, identification of errors, writing clear correspondence, and maintaining strict State and Federal timeframes. Additionally, the position requires the ability to analyze information or situations to formulate logical and objective conclusions.

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of journey level experience eliciting information regarding support enforcement and/or eligibility for public assistance programs including conducting interviews, making determinations based on the application of rules and regulations, verifying and analyzing information, and documenting facts pertinent to the program; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |

This recruitment is only open to current classified employees in state service with at least six months of continuous, full-time equivalent service. |
