Classes in this series serve as line department personnel function officers. Incumbents in this series plan, organize and administer a comprehensive personnel services program including employee relations, selection, classification coordination, position control, evaluation, training, payroll and other related areas. Personnel Officers supervise the work of other personnel staff.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
The Division of Human Resource Management (DHRM), within the Department of Administration, is seeking a Human Resources Officer 2 to support and provide back up to the HR Officer 3 in Agency Human Resources Services (AHRS) Division, comprised of two offices located in Carson City and Las Vegas. This position provides leadership and strategic planning to meet objectives for the DHRM and agencies served, with an emphasis on customer service excellence.
This position is part of the leadership team for 12-15 HR staff statewide in support of 19 State agencies comprised of approximately 2600 employees and reports to the Human Resources Officer 3. The HR Officer 2 plans, organizes, and administers human resources services through strategic partnerships for a specific group of 19 State agencies. These functions include employee relations, recruitment, selection, training, and payroll.

Graduation from an accredited four year college or university in personnel management, business, public administration or related area and four years of progressively responsible professional personnel management experience, including one year of personnel program management experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
