Conservation Aids assist professional staff in a variety of projects involving the conservation and preservation
of the State's natural resources.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
The Fisheries Management Division has seasonal positions that perform a variety of duties related to wildlife management, conservation, fish culture and wildlife ecology. Positions could range from 3 or 6 month duration over the summer and early fall months, working four 10-hour days in the field and camping at remote location sites on the workdays with openings in Panaca and Las Vegas. All positions require a valid driver's license at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. Seasonal housing is not available. Applicant is responsible for securing housing at all other locations.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school and one year of experience in resource conservation projects or wildlife management projects such as assisting with creel census, surveys, identifying fish and wildlife species, vegetation management or similar work; OR six months of experience as a Conservation Aid II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Notes
Work may be performed under adverse weather conditions and include extensive walking under difficult conditions, camping in remote, primitive locations.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
