The Position
Personnel Analysts are responsible for performing comprehensive personnel functions for a state department, division or agency. Work may involve employee relations, recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, employee development, benefit administration, staffing and payroll.
Under direction, Personnel Analyst 1's perform entry level professional personnel work as described in the series concept in one or more functional areas in Human Resource Management or a State agency. The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is recruiting for a Personnel Analyst 1 (Leave Specialist) located in Carson City, NV within Human Resources (HR). As the leave specialist for ADSD, this includes, but is not limited to ADA accommodations, FMLA, Worker's Compensation, Leave Without Pay and other various leave.
Under general direction, this role will prepare, track, process and interpret Leave matters for the agency. Incumbent functions as the Drug and Alcohol Testing Coordinator, including but not limited to pre-employment testing, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion testing. Incumbent works closely with all levels of employees and management to provide guidance on questions as it relates to leave. Incumbent is responsible for operating and interpreting policies within State laws, regulations, rules, and policies related to personnel management. Additionally, this role will be assigned to other projects as required including, but not limited to, in areas of compliance and work as the temporary contract liaison within the agency. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in public administration or a related field; OR three years of experience as a Personnel Technician III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
Additional Position Criteria
    This recruitment is only open to current classified employees in state service with at least six months of continuous, full-time equivalent service.
