The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
Incumbents perform journey level duties and may serve as a lead worker to lower level IT staff as assigned. This is a supervisory level for the Computer Operations function.
This position works within the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Division of Forestry located in Carson City, NV. The incumbent will be working in the capacity of Systems and Network Administrator and will primarily focus on maintenance of Microsoft Windows Servers, Active Directory Services, VMWare and backups. This position will also be tasked with providing additional helpdesk support for Division staff.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and two years of professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, and/or information security; OR two years of experience as an IT Professional I in Nevada State service; OR four years of relevant technical experience as an IT Technician IV or above in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Additional Position Criteria
Experience with Microsoft Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, and VMWare to include installation, configuration, monitoring, tuning, backups, restores, security, patching, migrations, and troubleshooting.
Experience with network related devices including VOIP and Meraki is preferred but not required.
