Information Technology (IT) Technicians install, configure, monitor, and maintain networks and monitor and maintain help desk user support or mainframe and server operations.
This opening is for an IT Technician 4 (Underfill for IT Technician 6) within the Division of Health Care Financing and Policy (DHCFP) Information Services unit, in Carson City NV.
Incumbents may perform duties associated with one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency. Participate in the development and revision of policies and procedures related to a functional area; review policies and procedures for changes applicable to IT; maintain operations, tasks, security, and/or functional area logs; review instructions from other IT staff and correct or return for revisions as necessary. Perform related duties as assigned.
This position provides support in person and remotely to all DHCFP staff, contracted employees and supporting agencies and supervises subordinate IT Technicians III, IV and V on the DHCFP help desk. This position is responsible for installing, configuring, monitoring and maintaining Windows based desktop PCs, laptops, mobile hand-held devices, servers, network equipment, and peripherals across the division. Including Windows images and patching. As well as performs all functions required to setup and terminate user access to all agencies systems and technology resources.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Graduation from high school or equivalent and five years of experience utilizing the fundamentals of typical computer systems, operating systems, applications, and peripherals, three years of which must have included IT work experience in a user support role; OR (for positions in the Network Operations & Support specialty ONLY) Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of IT work experience in the upgrade or replacement of software and hardware components on networked workstations; OR one year of relevant experience as an IT Technician III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |
