At Valley of Fire State Park, we are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as a Park Maintenance Specialist. As a Park Maintenance Specialist, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring that Valley of Fire remains a pristine and welcoming oasis for visitors from near and far. From repairing and constructing buildings to maintaining grounds and utilities, your skilled hands will play a crucial role in keeping the park's infrastructure in top-notch condition.
Under the guidance of the Park Supervisor, you'll have the opportunity to take ownership of facility management projects, from planning and inspection to providing essential insights into facility needs. Additionally, you'll have the chance to operate a variety of heavy equipment, adding an extra layer of excitement to your day-to-day responsibilities.
Your expertise in structures, facilities, and mechanical trades will be put to the test as you tackle a wide range of tasks, from plumbing and electrical work to carpentry, painting, welding, and HVAC maintenance. With your keen eye for detail and comprehensive knowledge of building codes and standards, you'll ensure that every project is completed safely and efficiently.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Four years of progressively responsible experience in two or more of the major building or mechanical trades and two years of journey level experience which included responsibility for performing a variety of repair and maintenance activities, laying out jobs, ordering material and the operation of heavy equipment; OR two years of journey level experience as a Maintenance Repair Specialist I in Nevada State service which included experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Maintenance Repair Specialist II which included experience as described above; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |
