The Position
Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. PER EXECUTIVE ORDER 2023-11, ALL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN WAIVED FOR THIS POSITION UNTIL JUNE 30th, 2024. The Department of Business and Industry, Director's Office is seeking an Administrative Aide. The Administrative Aide works under the supervision of the Executive Assistant and will: perform receptionist duties and answer telephones; greet office callers and visitors and provide basic information regarding agency activities; answer general questions, send prepared brochures or informational materials to requestors, and refer all callers/visitors to appropriate personnel or offices; collect all outgoing mail daily, prepare and send outgoing mail, open date stamp and distribute all received mail; order office supplies; provide administrative support to the Director's Office including proof reading documents, creating documents for special projects, email and correspondence; ensure conference rooms and rooms are clean and operational providing assistance as needed; file documents required to be maintained by the department, prepare and maintain department files; provide fiscal assistance by entering data into IFS-Advantage and spreadsheets as needed; assist the Executive Assistant, Deputy Director and Director with special projects as requested. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and six months of general clerical experience; OR six months of experience as a Clerical Trainee in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Notes
    As part of the hiring process, applicants for positions in the Nevada System of Higher Education may be required to demonstrate the ability to perform job-related tasks.
