Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
Incumbents perform journey level duties and may serve as a lead worker to lower level IT staff as assigned. This is a supervisory level for the Computer Operations function.
The Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Office of Information Technology is recruiting for an IT Professional 2 underfill for an IT Professional 3 with our Security Team. This position will apply an in-depth knowledge of security best practices and the division's security requirements to monitor and secure the division's data. This position will be responsible for monitoring division information systems, assisting with vulnerability management, assisting the Information Security Officer with Incident response, and will collaborate with the security team on creating policies, procedures and planning to ensure the division's information systems are meeting compliance requirements. The incumbent will also assist in providing support to the division on ensuring new initiatives existing systems are as secure as possible.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and two years of professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, and/or information security; OR two years of experience as an IT Professional I in Nevada State service; OR four years of relevant technical experience as an IT Technician IV or above in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |
