Social Workers are licensed professionals who provide case management services to children, families, vulnerable adults with intellectual, developmental, physical disabilities, serious mental illness, and older adults (collectively referred to as "vulnerable adults") and other individuals within local communities and institutions.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES(DCFS) Is recruiting for a Social Worker 1 underfilling a Social Worker 3 position for the Adoption Unit in one of the 8 rural Child Welfare offices. These offices are located in Carson City, Elko, Ely, Fallon, Fernley, Pahrump, Winnemucca, and Yerington. This is a full-time position, and a Nevada Social Work license is a requirement for employment. A social worker for the Adoption Unit will be responsible to deliver strength-based family-centered case management permanency services to families, with a goal of adoption, that promote the safety and well-being and permanency of children; to include implementing plans of care; including home visits, monitoring service, court report preparation and record keeping. Ensure children have their medical, mental health and educational needs met.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Licensure or provisional licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker or Associate in Social Work. |

This position is subject to call-out or call-back. |
|
Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required by the Division of Child and Family Services. |
|
A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |
|
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for fingerprinting. |
|
The Division of Child and Family Services requires this position to be subject to on-call.
