Painters perform skilled painting work to maintain and repair the surfaces of buildings, structures, fixtures, furniture and equipment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This position is in Carson City and is part of the facilities maintenance group of the State Public Works Division, Buildings & Grounds Section. This position will maintain the interior and exterior finishes and waterproof all buildings under Buildings & Grounds' administration in Northern Nevada. This includes surface prep and the application of primers, paints, stains, varnishes, and caulking to wall and ceiling surfaces, doors, trim, and flashings. Incumbents will utilize scrappers, brushes, rollers, and sprayers for the application of paint products. Incumbents will work from elevated surfaces using ladders and manlifts. The position is under the direct oversight of the Facility Supervisor 3. This position will participate in the on-call rotation.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Completion of a recognized painter apprenticeship program followed by one year of journey level experience; OR one year of experience as a Painter I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |
