Social Services Program Specialists perform administrative and professional work in conjunction with the administration of statewide public assistance, medical assistance, or social services programs.

This opening is for a Social Services Program Specialist 2 within the Division of Health Care Financing and Policy (DHCFP) Managed Care and Quality Assurance (MCQA) unit, in Carson City NV. This position assists with the responsibilities of the Quality Assurance and Improvement program and projects for Home and Community Based Services 1915(c) Waiver and 1915(i) State Plan programs, and other Unit projects. The purpose of the position is to ensure that all federal and state quality requirements are met, that health, safety and welfare of Medicaid recipients are ensured, to ensure or improve the quality of long-term support systems, and that quality assurance activities result in collaborative, data driven system changes. The duties of this position require the application of state and/or federal laws, policies and procedures or guidelines in making compliance determinations along with extensive professional work product and preparation of detailed reports. This position is located in Carson City, with occasional travel required. Heavy use of the Microsoft family of desktop software programs (Outlook, Word, Excel) is necessary to fulfill the position's requirements.
