The Position
Conservation Aids assist professional staff in a variety of projects involving the conservation and preservation of the State's natural resources.
PER EXECUTIVE ORDER 2023-11, ALL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN WAIVED FOR THIS POSITION UNTIL JUNE 30th, 2024. You must respond to the minimum qualifications screening question to ensure that your application moves forward. Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. OR Incumbents perform basic tasks or elements of the job not requiring the additional knowledge, skills and abilities to perform at the next level in the series.
Incumbent will be responsible to coordinate with Game Division and field staff to effectively and efficiently conduct both field and data management work for the monitoring, collection, and management of big game radio and satellite collars. Monitor bighorn sheep for disease, recruitment, and movement, as well as collecting and transporting biological samples. Position will also assist Area Biologists with big game and upland game surveys including helicopter surveys, ground surveys, fixed-wing surveys, and surveys from ATV's. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and six months of experience assisting in resource conservation projects or wildlife management projects; OR completion of 15 college credits in wildlife management, biology, or closely related field; OR six months of experience as a Conservation Aid I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Notes
    Work may be performed under adverse weather conditions and include extensive walking under difficult conditions and camping in remote, primitive locations.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
