The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

Licensed Psychologists provide psychological testing, evaluation, psychotherapy, counseling, and consultation to clients or inmates in residential, inpatient and outpatient settings, at a mental health, intellectual disabilities, or correctional facility, or in other settings where psychological services are provided.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is currently recruiting for a full-time Licensed Psychologist 1. This recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur in the Desert Regional Center (DRC) - Community Services in Las Vegas, NV. The Licensed Psychologist position in Developmental Services works with individuals who have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and related conditions such as, Autism, Seizures, Cerebral Palsy and Traumatic Brain Injury. In many cases individuals served also have co-occurring mental health diagnoses.
Incumbent's responsibilities include but are not limited to conducting psychological evaluations, assessments, psychological consultations, counseling, behavioral support, individual, family and group therapies and crisis management; providing technical assistance, training, and education to support teams, Division personnel, community members and service providers to enhance delivery of services; producing comprehensive reports required by Nevada Medicaid Waiver, other Federal or State programs, and in response to Division needs; directing services utilizing Person Center Planning and Positive Behavior Support. Incumbent maintains knowledge, support, and education of the Regional Center Mission, Vision, Policies and Procedures, and performs duties in accordance with the Division Policies and Procedures, the State Administrative Manual, and Prohibitions and Penalties.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

One year of post-doctoral experience in providing psychological services in an inpatient, outpatient or residential setting. |

Licensed Psychologist I's and Licensed Psychologist II's must possess current licensure as a Psychologist issued by the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners at the time of appointment and maintain licensure as a condition of continuing employment. |

Some positions require work on evenings, weekends and holidays. |
