Staff Associate Engineers perform professional engineering assignments not requiring licensure by the State Board of Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This recruitment is for a Staff 1, Associate Engineer underfill for a Staff 2, Associate Engineer. The incumbent in this position, under general supervision of the Water Rights Section Chief and the Supervisor III, Associate Engineer, will perform statutory analysis of submitted water right applications for review and signature by the State Engineer; answer inquiries regarding Nevada water law and Division policies and procedures from government agencies, private citizens, consultants, and others; perform field investigations in regards to submitted Proofs of Application of Water to Beneficial Use, alleged violations, and water level measurements; conduct ground water pumpage field inventories, perform analysis on those inventories, and prepare comprehensive reports for public distribution; and draft rulings and certificates for signature by the State Engineer.

Certification by the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors as an Engineer Intern; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or a closely related engineering field; OR two years of journey level technical experience equivalent to an Engineering Technician III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |
