The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Electricians perform skilled electrical work to maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This position is located at Southern Desert Correctional Center (SDCC), in Indian Springs, Nevada.
Incumbent is responsible for establishing priority of repair orders; diagnose problem, utilize the appropriate tools to test equipment; estimate job costs; and document time and cost for billing and accounting purposes.
Institute preventative maintenance schedule to prevent malfunctions and prolong the life of equipment, systems and structures. Performs installation and removal and reinstall; wiring, computer cables, power panels, etc. in accordance with code requirements; calculates electrical load; design new circuits based on the load.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Completion of a recognized electrician apprenticeship program followed by one year of journey level electrician experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required.
