Budget Analysts prepare and implement budgets including the development of expenditure projections, narrative justification of programs, and detailed biennial spending plans; review and analyze budget requests and adjustments; and ensure compliance with budgetary directives, policies, regulations and limitations.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
The Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Cost Allocation Unit is recruiting for a Budget Analyst 3, located in Carson City. Budget Analysts prepare and implement budgets including the development of expenditure projections, narrative justification of programs, and detailed biennial spending plans and expenditure projection; review and analyze budget requests and adjustments; and ensure compliance with budgetary directives, policies, regulations and limitations. This position is located at the Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Cost Allocation Unit, under the Revenue Management Unit in Carson City, Nevada. This position is responsible for assisting the Administrative Services Officer II with preparing and administering the Division's Federally approved Indirect Rate Proposal and Agreement in accordance with Federal guidelines; assists the Management Analyst II with Time and Effort tracking for Division personnel; and will be responsible for budget analysis and assisting in the preparation of the Division's complex cost allocation plan, administrative distribution workbook, and all budget reconciliations.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, accounting, finance, economics, or closely related field and four years of professional budgeting, accounting, economic or management analysis and projection, staff analyst or auditing experience, one year of which was equivalent to a Budget Analyst II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |
