Staff Associate Engineers perform professional engineering assignments not requiring licensure by the State Board of Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This position is in Carson City with the Maintenance and Asset Management Division. The incumbent will conduct Maintenance Achievement Program condition data collection throughout the state. The position will be evaluating, analyzing and reporting the condition assessment of the assets on the roadway. The position will also perform duties to meet new transportation asset management needs by managing data for asset inventories of roadway assets such as guardrails, signs, and vegetation control and performing evaluation and analysis of the data. This position will also be responsible for capturing Level of Service (LOS) survey data for the Maintenance Achievement Program and managing those results. The position will manage and design maintenance and asset management projects by coordinating with stakeholders, conducting field reviews, developing the project scope, schedule, and budget, developing cost estimates, developing designs and contract plans, drafting agreements and task orders, and reviewing construction contract plans and specifications to ensure department policies are followed.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or closely related engineering field and two years of professional engineering experience; OR Certification by the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors as an Engineer Intern, and two years of professional engineering experience in civil engineering or closely related engineering field; OR two years of experience as a Staff I, Associate Engineer or Supervisor I, Associate Engineer in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

A valid drivers license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |
