Heat Plant Specialists operate, adjust, monitor, maintain, clean and repair high and/or low pressure boilers and hot water heat generating equipment, auxiliary equipment such as fuel and combustion systems, compressors, pumps, steam lines, steam traps, heat exchangers, water lines, controls, gauges, and emergency power generators.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
Position is located in Lovelock, NV - incumbent must be willing to work at this location. Heat Plant Specialist operate, adjust, monitor, maintain, clean and repair high and/or low pressure boilers, hot water heat generating equipment and auxiliary equipment. Incumbent plans, assigns and supervise the work of Central Plant staff. Incumbents are responsible of purchasing requests, data entry for various computerized engery management systems.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Completion of a recognized heat plant apprenticeship program followed by two years of journey level experience as a heat plant specialist; OR two years as a Heat Plant Specialist III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |

A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. |

A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |
