The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. OR Incumbents perform basic tasks or elements of the job not requiring the additional knowledge, skills and abilities to perform at the next level in the series.
Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health (SNAMHS) is recruiting for a Clinical Social Worker 1 at Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. This recruitment is used to underfill a Clinical Social Worker 2. Incumbents receive training and gain experience while working toward licensure by the Board of Examiners for Social Work.
Clinical Social Workers perform client evaluations and assessments through interviews with families and friends and review of medical records including social, developmental, and medical history. Incumbents will perform crisis interventions; follow established protocols and policy in order to protect clients, staff, family, and others potentially at risk due to client behavior; recommend and complete documentation for voluntary and involuntary hospitalization. Duties include overseeing the delivery of professional services, responsibility for staff coverage, space and equipment needs, budget development and monitoring, developing policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, program guidelines, and agency policy. Positions at this level receive direct supervision while performing all or part of the duties described in the series concept.
This is a full-time position that may include weekend and holiday shifts. Incumbents will be working an innovative variable schedule with overtime after 40 hours in a week.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work and an internship approved by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.
Special Notes
Must be in or eligible for an internship for licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers, or must hold a license in the State of Nevada as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for fingerprinting.

A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
