The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Personnel Analysts are responsible for performing comprehensive personnel functions for a state department, division or agency. Work may involve employee relations, recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, employee development, benefit administration, staffing and payroll.
Under direction, Personnel Analyst I's perform entry level professional personnel work as described in the series concept in one or more functional areas in Human Resource Management or a State agency.
The Nevada Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) is currently hiring for a Personnel Analyst 1 underfilling a Personnel Analyst 2 in our Carson City Human Resource Office. This position will provide advice and guidance on NRS, NAC, policy and rule interpretation to program management, supervisors and employees; Investigate complaints and recommend alternative solutions; Respond to EEOC and NERC as needed; Respond and represent DCFS HR in hearings as needed; Review and update HR division policies; Complete research, prepare reports and present findings. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in public administration or a related field; OR three years of experience as a Personnel Technician III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
