APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY -  $58,025.52 to  $86,150.88  PAY GRADE: 35
The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
IT Professional I: Under general supervision, incumbents perform duties as continuing trainees. This is a supervisory level for the Computer Operations function. Computer Operations: Under general supervision, incumbents supervise IT Technician Trainees, I's, II's, III's, and IV's. Some incumbents may be required to supervise IT Technician V's and/or VI's. Systems Administration, Network Administration, Database Administration, Applications Analysis and Development, Information Security: Incumbents continue to receive training in the performance of many of the duties described in the series concept. This is a continuing trainee level in the series and progression to the next level in the series may occur upon meeting minimum qualifications, satisfactory performance, and with the recommendation of the appointing authority.
The DWSS Office of Information Security team is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the Division follows our federal partners requirements. The position will require the incumbent to work with other members of the provisioning and compliance units to assist with provisioning, supporting, and implementing security measures to protect our computer systems, networks, and data from unauthorized access or attack; You will work closely with other members of DWSS to help ensure that our agency's data remains safe and secure. Responsibilities include: Using monitoring tools to assist in identifying suspicious activity; Work with the compliance unit to assist in troubleshooting security events within the scope and authority of the position. Complete reports on a scheduled and irregular time frame; Work within the Agency ticketing system to complete security related tasks; Assist with educating other employees on DWSS security policies and practices. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and one year of IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, and/or information security; OR one year of experience as an IT Professional Trainee II in Nevada State service; OR three years of relevant technical experience equivalent to an IT Technician IV or above in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
