The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Financial Institutions Examiners conduct examinations in the Financial Institutions Division of the Department of Business & Industry.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This is a Financial Institutions Examiner I position underfilling for a Financial Institutions Examiner II position located in Las Vegas, NV. The incumbent will participate in the annual examination of licensed depository and/or non-depository institutions and/or approval and processing of applications/complaints/enforcement actions, for safety and soundness and for compliance with State and federal law and regulations; conduct exit meetings with licensees including business owners, managers and directors of financial institutions - explaining examination findings and providing recommendations for any violations of State and federal laws and regulations. The incumbent will communicate both verbally and in writing with licensees. The incumbent will prepare reports of examination and investigations for review by FID Examiner III and/or Supervisory Examiner. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, accounting, economics, finance, or related discipline; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
