Personnel Analysts are responsible for performing comprehensive personnel functions for a state department, division or agency. Work may involve employee relations, recruitment and selection, classification and compensation,
employee development, benefit administration, staffing and payroll.
The Department of Public Safety (DPS) is recruiting for a Personnel Analyst 2 to underfill our Equal Employment Opportunity Officer position located in Carson City. The incumbent must adhere to maintaining highly sensitive and confidential information, demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills, and efficiently interact with a variety of individuals to include DPS employees, employees from other State and federal agencies, applicants, and the general public.
Under the direction of the HR Manager, this position plans, organizes, manages, and directs a comprehensive Diversity and Equal Employment Opportunity program for DPS and is the Department's Americans with Disabilities Act Amendment Act (ADAAA) Coordinator.
The incumbent will provide consultation, mediation and resolution options to employees, supervisors, managers, administrators, and DPS HR Professionals regarding employee relations issues; develop, maintain, and implement DPS policies, procedures, and guidelines; and work collaboratively with the HR Manager and Personnel Officers in the development and implementation of training programs for employees, supervisors, and managers.
Additionally, the incumbent will act as DPS's Investigation Coordinator and will be responsible for assisting with and/or training DPS staff on conducting administrative internal investigations; tracking the status of internal investigations; providing guidance; reviewing and approving investigation documentation; reviewing materials and ultimately producing professional and grammatically correct written reports.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in public administration or a related field and two years of progressively responsible professional personnel experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position may require up to 25% travel. |

This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment. |
