Licensed Professional Engineers provide professional services involving the application of engineering principles and data, or activities in connection with public or private utilities, structures, buildings, machines, equipment or projects impacting the public welfare or the safeguarding of life, health or property.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

The Professional Engineer in Roadway Design will be a direct-report to each Principal Design Engineer. They will specialize in geometric design, capacity project design, and 3D CADD modeling. They will also assist in administering consultant-designed projects, provide technical review on consultant-designed projects, and provide technical review for Feasibility Studies, NEPA studies, and major projects by other Metropolitan Public Organizations (MPOs). This position will be the lead designer on in-house capacity projects.
