The Position
Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.
The Department of Taxation is recruiting for a Management Analyst 3. Applications are being accepted from applicants interested in employment in both Las Vegas and Carson City, NV and the position location will be selected after applicant review. The incumbent serves as the Publications and Education manager and designs and conducts a variety of studies; documents information flow; prepares, publishes, and oversees various reports and publications and databases of the Division; testifies before different administrative law proceedings as an expert witness; prepares analyses related to property tax issues; recommends courses of action concerning property tax issues; assists in Human Resources/Personnel issues; and administers the State appraiser and certification and continuing education program. The incumbent supervises and directs a Management Analyst II and Management Analyst I to create/collect/ publish and document management for the Division along with writing procedure manuals. The incumbent must determine the design and scope of the research projects and publications to eliminate the development and analysis of unnecessary data and to focus on the appropriate data to be analyzed and or published. They will also be responsible for the education and training of the Division including putting on various Webinars and overseeing the collection and disbursement of tax bills for net proceeds of minerals and unitary property. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and three years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and three years of professional experience which included budgeting, accounting, and/or economic or management analysis and projections; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and five years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
    This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI fingerprint-based background check as a condition of appointment and as condition of continuing employment.
