Custodial Workers perform general cleaning services to State facilities using various cleaning equipment and materials to provide a safe, hygienic and orderly work environment.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
Custodial worker 2 Duties are general cleaning, of offices, restrooms emptying trash, dust mopping. The job would also include mopping, vacuuming, carpet shampooing, stripping and waxing floors as well as moving office furniture. Must have experience in using carpet extractor, Auto scrubber restroom cleaner (K -VAC). Floor experience in floor/carpet care and snow removal stock supplies and do work order request etc.

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial, industrial, hospital, governmental or similar environment; OR six months of general work experience and one year of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial, industrial, hospital, governmental or similar environment; OR six months of experience as a Custodial Worker I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |

Incumbents may be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays in addition to their normal work schedules. |

A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. |

This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. |

A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |
