The Position
Grants & Projects Analysts develop and implement and/or assess, monitor, control and review grant-in-aid projects/programs administered by State agencies and provide assistance to recipients in evaluating program effectiveness.
The Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) seeks a Grants and Projects Analyst 3 in support of the Agency's vital mission to eliminate deaths and injuries on Nevada's roadways, so everyone arrives home safely. In this position the incumbent will oversee the preparation and implementation of Nevada's triennial Highway Safety Plan and Annual Grant Application, research and analyze data, and review and evaluate grant projects and programs. The incumbent will oversee the enterprising traffic safety program staff and will manage the robust agency grant processes and compliance with federal standards, including creating, maintaining, implementing, and auditing agency policies, documents, and training materials. The incumbent will become immersed in learning about highway safety program management, manage federal grant funds, and work with the dynamic OTS team members to make a difference in public safety. Comprehensive highway safety and grant management training are provided to ensure the chosen candidate is successful in meeting the goals and objectives of the agency. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field and three years of professional grants experience which included writing grant applications; determining grant/subgrant program eligibility; researching, writing and implementing grant program plans; managing fiscal aspects of grants/subgrants; providing technical assistance to grant/subgrant recipients; and monitoring and ensuring grant/subgrant recipient compliance; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and five years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Grants & Projects Analyst II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Notes
    Travel may be required up to 25% of the time.

Additional Position Criteria
    A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    This position is subject to Flexible/Rotating Shifts.
