Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This Administrative Assistant II position will serve as the primary administrative support to the state staff located at the Northern Nevada Child Care Services Center (CCSC) and will provide administrative, organizational, and clerical support for the Northern Nevada CCSC in Reno, Nevada. The position will liaise with Division of Welfare and Supportive Services (DWSS) and Child Care and Development Program (CCDP) administrative support staff to ensure they are trained on, familiar with, and following current State and DWSS administrative policies and procedures; organize and book staff travel; organize and manage meetings, room reservations, and event calendars for the Reno CCSC; manage the Reno CCSC supply and equipment needs and initiate requests when items are needed; provide customer service to all Reno CCSC visitors; and provide all general clerical support as needed and requested. The incumbent will provide integral administrative support to the state staff at the Reno CCSC and will be a main liaison between the CCDP main office in Carson City and the Reno CCSC, ensuring they stay up to date on statewide, Division, and Department expectations, policies and procedures.

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |
