Project Managers perform professional services in planning, coordinating, directing and managing the activities of construction projects and capital improvement programs; develop design concepts; determine cost estimates and budgets; negotiate reviews and modify contracts, agreements, architectural/engineering plans, specifications, and schedules as appropriate.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
The incumbent is responsible for planning, developing, and managing assigned statewide capital improvement and maintenance support projects from inception to closeout for the Nevada Division of State Parks.
Responsibilities will include current and long-range project planning and design, permitting, bidding, compliance, and project management. Long-range project planning will include, but not be limited to, the following plans: foundation, strategic, master, regional, trail, asset management, maintenance, operations, outdoor recreation, conservation, and interpretive plans for the 27 parks in the Nevada State Park system.
Additional duties will include project scoping, stakeholder engagement, identification of funding sources, preparation of work programs, grant proposal writing and oversight, environmental and cultural resource clearance oversight, management of the planning and design process, preparation of bid documents and project estimates, developing consultant Requests for Proposals, consultant selection, consultant contract management, and construction administration, including: solicitation of bids; processing project addenda; conducting bid openings; contract writing and oversight; processing billings, change orders & submittals; and final project close-out. Incumbent will also provide technical assistance to field staff as requested.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in architecture, engineering, business administration or related field and two years of experience involving the design, planning and coordination of construction projects; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |

A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment. |

This position requires statewide travel. |

This position has a 25% travel requirement. |
