The Position
Business Process Analysts apply an in-depth knowledge of the agency's program areas to define and implement a solution to a given problem that requires an individually tailored response for end-user requirements.
The Division of Welfare and Supportive Services (DWSS) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Business Process Analyst III- Project Portfolio Analyst to join our Information Services Project Management Office. In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for managing and monitoring the status of software development projects as well as eliciting and analyzing business processes and documenting requirements for agile and waterfall projects. You will also utilize your expertise to foster strong collaboration among various teams to ensure successful process delivery. The incumbent will partner with the Portfolio Manager to create and maintain standard agency project-related documentation for the PMO; analyze organizational assets, regulatory documentation, user surveys, historic data and other records to support quality analysis and policy compliance; analyze the regulatory (federal and state) environment by reviewing new and revised federal and state laws, regulations, and agency policies and interpreting the effect on the project; assist the Project Portfolio Manager with establishing metrics and KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) to properly audit project processes and identify opportunities for improvement; lead and facilitate the analysis and documentation of existing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and streamlining workflow; and create and maintain project schedules by developing project plans and specifications, estimating time and resources, monitoring milestone completion, tracking all phases of the project lifecycle, providing timely reporting of issues that impact project progress, coordinating actions and resolving conflicts.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business, public administration, management information systems, or other disciplines related to the assignment and three years of progressively responsible professional experience in a related program area analyzing and interpreting program laws, regulations, policies and procedures, which included two years of experience applying recognized data processing concepts to business process planning and analyses; OR one year of experience as a Business Process Analyst II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for fingerprinting.
A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
Additional Position Criteria
This position is subject to working nights, weekends, and holidays.
