The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

Health Resource Analysts assist in the development, maintenance, implementation, and revision of State health care policies and programs.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
The Silver State Health Insurance Exchange is seeking a Health Resource Analyst 2 in our Carson City location, who will serve as the primary point of contact, respond to requests and provide data analysis from all internal and external stakeholders, including the Exchange Board, the Nevada Legislature, partner state agencies, other states, academia, the federal government, media and outside national industry organizations. Under administrative direction of the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operations Officer this position will develop and provide statistical reports and metrics information on the enrollment data the Exchange collects. The Health Resource Analyst 2 researches and analyzes health insurance statistics and health insurance resource information to determine areas of unmet health needs. This position serves as a subject matter expert and prepares concise and accurate written and statistical reports using Exchange, state, and federal data sets on specific healthcare problems, projects or programs. This position is responsible for analyzing and publicly reporting statewide and national geographic, demographic, socioeconomic, health care utilization, health status indicators, community health profiles and health resources data.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree in the health sciences, public administration, social sciences or closely related field and two years of experience in the health/social sciences or related field which involved analysis of health data, identification of health care needs, and the development of health care reports, policies and programs; OR two years of experience as a Health Resource Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
This position has a 25% travel requirement.
Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
