Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
IT Professional I: Under general supervision, incumbents perform duties as continuing trainees. This is a supervisory level for the Computer Operations function. Computer Operations: Under general supervision, incumbents supervise IT Technician Trainees, I's, II's, III's, and IV's. Some incumbents may be required to supervise IT Technician V's and/or VI's. Systems Administration, Network Administration, Database Administration, Applications Analysis and Development, Information Security: Incumbents continue to receive training in the performance of many of the duties described in the series concept.
A successful candidate may be immediately placed as an IT Professional 2, IT Professional 3 or an IT Professional 4 upon meeting the minimum qualifications for that grade, and with the approval of the appointing authority.
This is an IT Professional 1 position underfilling for an IT Professional 4 located in Carson City, NV. This position falls under the Governor's Finance Office, Office of Project Management, and will be part of the CORE.NV ERP implementation project team. Incumbent will function in one of the following roles: Integrations & Development; Data Conversion & Migration. Primary responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to): Developing integrations or interfaces between the CORE.NV ERP system and various legacy or external applications; assisting with data cleansing, validation, and migration between legacy systems and the CORE.NV ERP system. Additionally, this position will cross-train and provide support for other technical roles on the CORE.NV Project team, to include: Security, Configuration, Reporting, and Quality Assurance/Testing. Incumbent may serve as a member of Technical Governance team to help ensure that any changes to any aspect of the ERP solution result in a stable, functional, and fully compliant environment for all agencies and users.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and one year of IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, and/or information security; OR one year of experience as an IT Professional Trainee II in Nevada State service; OR three years of relevant technical experience equivalent to an IT Technician IV or above in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |
