The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
Incumbents perform journey level duties and may serve as a lead worker to lower level IT staff as assigned. This is a supervisory level for the Computer Operations function.
This position is with the Secretary of State IT Division located in Carson City. This position is the Supervisor of the Desktop Support Team handling the day-to-day operational tasks and technical assistance to all Secretary of State staff. This position will be responsible for supporting all Windows Desktops, Laptops, Printers, Mobile Devices, and assorted peripherals while logging incidents in a ticketing software. This position also Supervises the other members of the Desktop Support team and is considered the technical lead. The candidate should have experience with supporting and troubleshooting a variety of Workstation hardware, software, and peripheral issues, with strong written and verbal communication skills and a desire to research and solve advanced technical issues. The ideal candidate will have prior experience supervising technical staff, experience with servers and networks at the journey level and looking forward to developing a Desktop Support program.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and two years of professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, and/or information security; OR two years of experience as an IT Professional I in Nevada State service; OR four years of relevant technical experience as an IT Technician IV or above in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
